Angaangaq Lyberth

Angaangaq Lyberth (born 1947[2]) is a Greenland Inuit New Age workshop leader,[3] teacher, and environmentalist.[4][5][3]

Early life

He was born Jens Simeon Lyberth in Greenland[1] in 1947.[2]

Career

As an adult, Lyberth moved from Greenland to Canada. He is a member of the Baha’i faith and founded an evangelic religion that combines New Age teachings with Christianity, influenced by the Inuit Kaassassuk [de] myth.[3][6] He has presented himself as a "Greenland spiritual leader from the Eskimo Nation."[7]

Lyberth has been quoted on the effects of global warming in Greenland,[8] and has given talks in Vermont on behalf of the Arctic Research Consortium of the United States.[9] He was among the over 1,900 participants at the Millennium Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders in August of 2000.[7]

Lyberth provided music for the 1973 documentary For fremtiden (For the Future).[2]

From 2004 to 2017, he served as director for Sirmiq Aatuuq (Melting The Ice In the Heart Of Man), Ltd., a business based in Mississauga, Ontario.[10]
