"Boy's a Liar" is a song by English singer PinkPantheress. It was released on 30 November 2022 through Warner Music UK as the second single from her EP Take Me Home. The song gained traction on TikTok a few weeks after its release. A remix featuring American rapper Ice Spice titled "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" was released on 3 February 2023.

Background and composition

The song, described as a "a dream pop cadence with a steady bolstering beat",[1] was co-produced by the singer herself along with British producer Mura Masa and talks about the "shortcomings of men", as well as the emotional turmoil they put her through. Accompanied by a kick drum beat, the instrumental features a prominent "twinkling harpsichord melody".[2] According to her, the track was the one she was most excited to release. She further explains, "me and Mura Masa wanted to create a fun track together about a common theme this time of year: boys being liars!".[3]

On 3 February 2023, a remix with American rapper Ice Spice was released. Ahead of its release, PinkPantheress explained that she usually feels "picky" when it comes to collaboration, stressing the fact that she needs someone who can match her well.[8] The singer also said that the collaboration initially came about through social media.[9] The track was seen as a continuation of the original, keeping most of its elements with the addition of Ice Spice rapping about a love interest that is already in a relationship.[10] The release was accompanied by a music video that shows both artists in different settings around New York City.[11] The video was filmed in January 2023.[12]
