Czechoslovak Group

The Czechoslovak Group (CSG) is a Czech industrial-technological holding company.

Activities

The Czechoslovak Group holds shares in more than a hundred companies based mainly in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.[1] The best-known member of the group is the Kopřivnice-based car manufacturer Tatra Trucks, in which CSG holds a majority stake.[2] In addition to the automotive industry, holding companies operate in the aviation, railway, defense industry and other sectors.[3] The holding headquarters is located in Prague. CSG operated from 13 October 2014 to 14 January 2016 under the name Excalibur Group.[4] Since January 2018, the owner of the Czechoslovak Group is Michal Strnad, the son of the founder of the holding, Jaroslav Strnad. CSG is considered one of the most important family companies in the Czech Republic.[5]

CSG's current portfolio mixes the production of engineering products for the automotive, railway and aerospace industries with watches, specialised vehicles and off-road trucks.

CSG works closely with General Dynamics European Land Systems, a Madrid-based manufacturer of ground defence vehicles, and Nexter Systems, a leading French manufacturer of military ground equipment.[6]

History

CSG acquired a 70% stake in Fiocchi Munizioni, an Italian munitions company.[7]
