New Elephant road

New Elephant Road is a business hub of Dhaka city. It is especially well known for its shops selling carpets, floor coverings, computers, computer accessories, shoes, ceramics, garments, show pieces, watches, and food. It was previously known as Laboratory Road.[1][2] It connects Science Laboratory and Shahbagh.

Lt. Colonel Abu Taher's brother, Flight Sergeant Abu Yusuf Khan, held a Biplobi Shainik Sangstha meeting on 20 June 1974, at his Elephant Road residence.[3]
