Griff Furst

Griff Furst (born September 17, 1981, in Van Nuys, California)[1] is an American actor,[2] film producer, and film director. Furst started his career in television portraying a variety of characters in network and cable series. He starred in Banshee (2013),[3][4][5] Focus (2015), The Magnificent Seven (2016), and The Founder (2016). As of 2023, Furst has produced thirty seven movies including You Might Be the Killer (2018),[6] Devil's Peak (2023)[7], and 57 Seconds (2023).[8]

Early life and education

Furst was born on September 17, 1981, in Van Nuys, California to Lorraine and Stephen Furst. His mother was an attorney, and his father was an actor and director who played ‘’Kent Dorfman’’ in the 1978 fraternity comedy Animal House. Furst attended the Chatsworth Hills Academy. After graduating from high school, Furst attended the Beverly Hills Playhouse.[9]

Career

Actor

Furst has appeared in over a hundred television and film productions. In 2011 a Variety article singled him out with Antoni Corone as "[an actor] who can make a big impression with only a few scenes".[10]

Producer

He is vice-president of Curmudgeon Films, founded with his father, Stephen Furst,[11] which has produced films including Cold Moon, Nightmare Shark, You Might Be the Killer, Sinfidelity, and the forthcoming 57 Seconds.[12] He also co-wrote and directed Cold Moon[13] and the 2011 film Mask Maker.[14]

In 2023, Furst co-produced Devil’s Peak (2023), a thriller starring starring Billy Bob Thornton and Robin Wright, with Robin Wright and John Kesselman.[7] During the same year, he produced 57 Seconds (2023), a Sci-Fi thriller starring Morgan Freeman and Josh Hutcherson.[8]
