Karaca Dağ
Karaca Dağ is a shield volcano located in southeastern Turkey,[1] near Diyarbakır.[2]

It was also known as "Mount Masia",[3] Which in turn was used to give the title of an iris found on the mountain, as Iris masia.[4]
History
In late 2021, researchers Griffith and White argued that this was possibly the site where Noah's Ark landed, and where his tomb is located, after exploring the area in October 2019.[2]
On 6 March 2006, Der Spiegel reported that the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne[5] had discovered that the genetically common ancestor of 68 contemporary types of cereal still grows as a wild plant on the slopes of Mount Karaca (Karacadag).[6]
