Kristi Pursell

Kristi Achor Pursell (born February 9, 1981) is an American politician from Minnesota. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she defeated Republican candidate Gary Bruggenthies in the 2022 election for Minnesota’s 58A house district.

Early career

Pursell served five years as the Executive Director of Clean River Partners, an environmental non-profit organization based in Northfield, Minnesota. She also has been a leader within grassroots organizations, including the Land Stewardship Project, ISAIAH MN, and TakeAction MN.[1]

Minnesota House of Representatives

During the 2022 election, she defeated Republican candidate Gary Bruggenthies. She assumed office on January 3, 2023.[2]

Personal life

She graduated from Saint Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Environmental Studies. Pursell also received a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth.[3]

Her husband, Michael, and two children, Franklin and Henry, reside in Northfield, Minnesota.[3]
