Matthew Michell
Matthew Michell (1705 – 29 April 1752) was an English politician and captain who served in the House of Commons of England as Member of Parliament for Westbury in Wiltshire.[1]

Naval career
In 1742 HMS Gloucester was damaged in a storm under Captain Matthew Michell, and she was burned in order to avoid her being captured.[2]
