Rees Withers
Rees Bedford Withers (28 August 1913 – 4 August 1996) was an Australian accountant and mining entrepreneur. He was a co-founder of what is now Woodside Energy and served as its managing director from 1954 to 1972.

Early life
Withers was born on 28 August 1913 in Camberwell, Victoria. He grew up in Corryong, a small town in country Victoria, where his father ran a drapery. He attended the local high school and later studied accounting by correspondence, moving to Melbourne in 1937.[1]
