Sebastian Roloff

Sebastian Roloff (born 28 January 1983) is a German lawyer and politician of the Social Democratic Party who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag since 2021.

Early life and career

Roloff was born 1983 in Berlin and studied law at the University of Regensburg.[1]

After working as a lawyer with trade union IG Metall in Munich from 2011 to 2019, Roloff held various positions in human resources at MAN Truck & Bus from 2019 to 2021.[2]

Political career

Roloff was elected to the Bundestag in the 2021 elections, representing the Munich South district.[3]

In parliament, Roloff has since been serving on the Committee on Economic Affairs.[4] In this capacity, he is his parliamentary group’s rapporteur on self-employment[5] and postal services.[6]

Within his parliamentary group, Roloff belongs to the Parliamentary Left, a left-wing movement.[7]

Controversy

In 2021, the Munich public prosecutor’s office launched investigations in whether Roloff, in his capacity as head of human resources at MAN, legally left his company car to Athanasios Stimoniaris, the former head of the company’s works council.[13] As a consequence, the Bundestag lifted Roloff’s immunity.[14]
