Alexa Vega

Alexa Ellesse Vega (lahir 27 Agustus 1988 ) adalah seorang aktris, penyanyi dan pianis berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat. Ia terkenal dalam perannya sebagai Carmen Cortez dalam serial film Spy Kids dan Shilo Wallace dalam film Repo! the Genetic Opera. Pada tahun 2009, ia memainkan karakter Ruby Gallagher di serial keluarga ABC, Ruby & The Rockits.

Kehidupan awal

Vega lahir di Miami, Florida. Ayahnya adalah orang Kolombia dan ibunya, Gina Rue, adalah mantan model Amerika.[1][2][3] Alexa memiliki enam saudara kandung: Margaux Vega (l.1981), Krizia Vega (l.1990 ), Makenzie Vega (l.1994; membintangi film Saw dan Sin City), Greylin James (l.2000), Jet James (l.2005), dan Cruz Hudson Rue (l.2009). Bersama keluarganya, ia pindah ke California saat berumur empat tahun. Ia mengikuti Notre Dame Catholic High School.

Akting

Pada tahun 1996, Vega berperan sebagai Harding Jo muda di film Twister. Ia menjadi bintang tamu dalam banyak acara televisi dan film, termasuk ER, Follow the Stars Home, Ghost Whisperer, dan The Bernie Mac Show. Ia merekam tiga lagu untuk soundtrack saat memerankan Carmen Cortez dalam trilogi film Spy Kids. Ia merilis singel debutnya, "Isle of Dreams", bertepatan dengan dirilisnya film kedua. Ia juga merilis "Game Over", untuk film ketiga. Lagu lainnya, "Heart Drive" bersama Bobby Edner, juga direkam untuk Spy Kids 3. Ia juga telah merekam lagu untuk film Repo! The Genetic Opera, yang dirilis pada tahun 2008. Vega menyanyikan lagu "Christmas is the Time to Say 'I Love You'" di film ABC Family, Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe. Lagu ini muncul di album kompilasi Songs to Celebrate 25 Days of Christmas yang dirilis pada tanggal 3 November 2009 oleh Walt Disney Record.

Alexa Vega tidak berencana melanjutkan karier musiknya sebagaimana ia lebih menyenangi akting.

Kehidupan pribadi

Vega menyenangi memancing, dapat berbicara bahasa Spanyol secara fasih, pesenam berpengalaman, dan mendeskripsikan dirinya sebagai seorang Kristen.[7][8] Vega menikah dengan produser Sean Covel pada tanggal 10 Oktober 2010 dalam sebuah upacara yang diadakan di kampung halamannya di Lead, South Dakota. Ia mengenakan sebuah gaun karya Ian Stuart[9] dan berjalan menyusuri lorong bersama Robert Rodriguez. Pada bulan Juli 2012, Vega mengumumkan melalui Twitter bahwa ia bercerai dari Covel.[10][11]

Dalam bulan Agustus 2013, pada suatu cruise dengan teman-temannya, Vega bertunangan dengan aktor dan penyanyi Carlos Pena, Jr.[12][13] Pasangan ini menikah pada tanggal 4 Januari 2014 di Puerto Vallarta, Meksiko, dan mengubah nama keluarga mereka berdua menjadi "PenaVega".[14] Vega berteman dekat dengan Nikki Reed, dan menjadi pendamping di pernikahan Reed dengan Paul McDonald pada 16 Oktober 2011.
