Asam linoleat

Asam linoleat adalah asam lemak omega-6 tak jenuh ganda dan merupakan salah satu dari dua asam lemak esensial bagi manusia, yang harus mendapatkannya melalui makanan mereka.[4] Ini adalah minyak tidak berwarna atau putih yang hampir tidak larut dalam air.

Kata "linoleat" berasal dari kata Yunani linon (flaks). Oleat berarti "dari, berhubungan dengan, atau berasal dari minyak zaitun" atau "dari atau berhubungan dengan asam oleat" karena menjenuhkan ikatan rangkap omega-6 menghasilkan asam oleat.
