Basin Amazon
Basin Amazon adalah bagian dari Amerika Selatan yang dialiri oleh Sungai Amazon dan cabang-cabang sungainya. Wilayah yang dilalui sungai Amazon meliputi wilayah seluas sekitar , atau sekitar 40 persen dari benua Amerika Selatan. Basin tersebut terletak di negara Bolivia, Brasil, Kolombia, Ekuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname dan Venezuela.[1]
Mulut Sungai Amazon
Kebanyakan basin diselimuti oleh hutan hujan Amazon, yang juga dikenal sebagai Amazonia. Dengan wilayah seluas 5.500.000 km2 (2.100.000 sq mi), hutan tropis tersebut menjadi hutan hujan terbesar di dunia.
