Flugelhorn
Flugelhorn (/ˈfluːɡəlhɔːrn/), juga dieja fluegelhorn, flugel horn, atau flügelhorn, adalah instrumen kuningan yang menyerupai terompet dan cornet tetapi memiliki lubang yang lebih lebar dan lebih berbentuk kerucut.[1] Seperti terompet dan cornet, kebanyakan flugelhorn dinadakan dalam B♭ (beberapa di C). [2] Ini adalah jenis terompet berklep, dikembangkan di Jerman pada awal abad ke-19 dari terompet tanpa katup Inggris tradisional. Versi pertama dari terompet berklep dijual oleh Heinrich Stölzel di Berlin pada tahun 1828.[3] Terompet berklep memberi Adolphe Sax (pencipta saksofon) dengan inspirasi untuk saksofon B♭ soprano (contralto), yang menjadi model flugelhorn modern.[4][5]
