Gero

Gero I (c. 900 – 20 Mei 965), dijuluki yang Agung (Latin magnus),[1] menguasai wilayah yang berpusat di Merseburg, di mana ia memperluas wilayah yang dinamai atas namanya: Mark Geronis.[2][3] Selama pertengahan abad ke-10, ia adalah pemimpin Drang nach Osten Sachsen.

Lukisan dinding abad ke-14 menggambarkan Gero di gereja yang ia dirikan di Gernrode.
