Sam Cooke

Sam Cooke (22 Januari 1931 – 11 Desember 1964 ) adalah penyanyi, penulis lagu dan pengusaha berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat. Dia dianggap sebagai salah satu pelopor dan pendiri musik soul. Dia menjadi yang terkenal saat menyanyikan lagu-lagu utamanya seperti "You Send Me", "A Change Is Gonna Come", "Cupid", "Chain Gang", "Wonderful World", dan "Twistin' the Night Away". Berkarier di dunia musik sejak tahun 1951 hingga 1964. Cooke ditembak oleh manajer Hacienda Motel di Los Angeles, California pada tanggal 11 Desember 1964, dengan usia 33.
