Surbhi Jyoti

Surbhi Jyoti (diucapkan [suːrbʱiː ˈdʒjɔːt̪iː]) adalah seorang aktris televisi India yang dikenal karena perannya sebagai Zoya Farooqui di Qubool Hai dan Bela Sehgal di Naagin 3.[1]

Kehidupan awal dan pribadi

Jyoti lahir di Jalandhar, Punjab, India.[2] Ia memiliki satu saudara.[3] Jyoti mendapatkan pendidikan awalnya dari Sekolah Publik Shiv Jyoti dan kemudian lulus dari Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.[4] Sebagai siswi dari Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, ia ikut dalam debat dan meraih penghormatan.[5][6] Ia meraih gelar Master of Arts dalam bidang bahasa Inggris dari Kolese Seni Rupa Murni Apeejay.[7] Jyoti sekarang tinggal di Malad, sebuah subperkotaan di Mumbai Barat.[8]

Karier

Jyoti memulai kariernya dalam teater dan film regional.[2] Ia berkarya dalam film-film berbahasa Punjabi Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Raula Pai Gaya dan Munde Patiala De[9] serta serial-serial televisi Punjabi Akiyaan To Door Jayen Na dan Kach Diyan Wanga.[10]

Pada akhir 2012, Jyoti ikut acara televisi Qubool Hai.[11] Ia memainkan peran Zoya Farooqui.[12] Untuk pemeranan karakter tersebut, ia memenangkan penghargaan untuk GR8! Performer of the Year—Female di Indian Television Academy Awards dan Aktris Debut Terbaik di Zee Gold Awards 2013.[13] Ia juga memenangkan dua penghargaan Jodi Terbaik dengan Karan Singh Grover.[13] Pada 2014, ia memainkan peran ganda Sanam dan Seher.[14][15] Pada 2014, ia meraih peringkat ke-16 dalam sebuah jajak pendapat tahunan yang diadakan oleh surat kabar mingguan yang berbasis di Britania Raya Eastern Eye.[16]

Di Zee Gold Awards 2015, Karanvir Bohra dan Jyoti diberi Best Onscreen Jodi Award.[17] Pada 2015, Qubool Hai memperkenalkan lompatan 25 tahun, dimana ia memerankan Mahira, peran kelimanya dalam acara tersebut.[18][19] Pada 2015, ia meraih peringkat ke-17 dalam sebuah jajak pendapat tahunan yang diadakan oleh surat kabar mingguan yang berbasis di Britania Raya Eastern Eye.[20] Acara Qubool Hai berakhir pada Januari 2016.[21]
