Seperti beberapa film dari era bisu, The Carpet from Bagdad secara keseluruhan dipercaya hilang, namun pada 1982 sebuah ekspedisi diving Oceaneering International menemukan sejumlah artefak-artefak dari puing-puing RMS Lusitania,[4] termasuk satu reel film. Dengan dibantu penasihat teknikal BBC Laurie Ward, BFI National Archive berupaya untuk mendapatkan kembali gambar-gambar dari beberapa jejak film tersebut
