Tianyuraptor

Tianyuraptor adalah genus dinosaurus dromaeosaurid berlengan pendek yang hidup selama Cretaceous awal, sekitar 122 juta tahun yang lalu. Sisa-sisanya ditemukan di Liaoning barat, China.

Etimologi

Nama Tianyuraptor menggabungkan Tianyu (dari Shandong Tianyu Museum of Nature, tempat spesimen holotipe disimpan), dengan raptor, bahasa latin yang berarti 'pemburu/pencuri', merujuk pada aksi mencengkeram mangsa. Nama spesifiknya, ostromi, digunakan untuk menghormati John Ostrom[1] yang berperan sangat besar dalam studi fosil-fosil dinosaurus dari famili dromaeosauridae, termasuk Deinonychus dan dinosaurus berbulu.[2][3]
