WorldCat

WorldCat adalah suatu kumpulan katalog yang mencatat isi koleksi 72.000 perpustakaan di 170 negara dan teritori[1] yang termasuk ke dalam koperasi global Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). Dioperasikan oleh OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc.[2] sementara databasenya dipelihara secara kolektif oleh perpustakaan anggotanya.

Sejarah

OCLC didirikan tahun 1967,[3] dan pada tahun yang sama Fred Kilgour mendirikan WorldCat,[4] meskipun catatan katalog pertama ditambahkan pada tahun 1971.[5] Memuat lebih dari 330 juta catatan, mewakili lebih dari 2 miliar aset fisik dan digital dalam 485 bahasa, hingga November 2014.[1]
