Elizabeth Povinelli

Elizabeth Povinelli (3 de fevereiro de 1962) é uma antropóloga estadunidense, diretora do Instituto de Pesquisa sobre Mulheres e Gênero e co-diretora do Centro de Estudos de Direito e Cultura. Professora de Antropologia da Australian Academy of the Humanities e de Estudos de Gênero da Universidade Columbia.[1]

A pesquisa de Povinelli concentra-se no desenvolvimento de uma teoria crítica do liberalismo tardio, que apoiaria uma antropologia do contrário (anthropology of the otherwise), animada pelo envolvimento com o pragmatismo e a crítica imanente.[2]
