Judith Arundell Wright

Judith Arundell Wright (Nova Gales do Sul, Austrália, 31 de maio de 1915 – Camberra, 26 de junho de 2000) foi uma escritora e crítica australiana.

Biografia

Entrou para a Universidade de Sydney em 1934, onde estudou filosofia, história, psicologia e inglês sem se formar. Aquando dos seus vinte anos, ficou progressivamente surda. Entre 1837 e 1938 viajou pela Europa. Com 30 anos, conheceu o companheiro com o qual mais tarde casaria: J.P. McKinney.

Considerada um dos maiores vultos da literatura australiana em ensaios e poesia,[1] foi Doutora Honoris Causa pelas Universidades de Queensland, Nova Inglaterra e Sydney.

Judith Wright faleceu em Camberra a 26 de Junho de 2000, com 85 anos.[2]
