História

Império Cajar[1][2] (em persa: شاهنشاهی قاجار) foi um Estado o que governou a dinastia Cajar de 1794 a 1925.[3][4] A dinastia foi uma família real iraniana de ascendência túrquica.[5][6] Assumiu o controle total do Irã em 1794, depondo Lotefe Ali Cã, último xá do Império Zande, e reafirmou a soberania persa sobre partes do Cáucaso. Em 1796, Maomé Cã Cajar, um eunuco, foi formalmente coroado como xá[7] e em 1906 o país virou uma monarquia constitucional.[8]
