Bathory est un groupe de black metal, viking metal et thrash metal suédois, crée à Vällingby (un quartier de Stockholm) en 1983 et qui a cessé son activité en 2004, avec la mort de son dernier membre Quorthon. Il s'agit de l'un de premiers groupes de black metal et le pionnier du viking metal (bien que Quorthon dit que le groupe a joué du death metal, puis epic metal et enfin viking metal).
