161 Maiden Lane

161 Maiden Lane (also known as 1 Seaport or Seaport Residences) is a residential skyscraper on hold in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City. The building leans 3 inches (76 mm) to the north as a result of the method used to construct its foundation.[1] The tilting is the subject of a law suit between the developer, Fortis Property Group, and engineering firm Pizzarotti.[2] The building topped out in September 2018.[3]

In 2017, an employee of a subcontractor working on the site died after falling from the building's 29th floor.[4][5]

In late 2020, some glass curtain walls were removed, and construction was halted. It remains halted as of late 2022,[6] amid additional legal wrangling over the project's finances.[7]
