Byurakn

Byurakn (Armenian: Բյուրակն) is a village and rural community (municipality) in the Shirak Province of Armenia near the Armenia–Turkey border. The village was populated by Azerbaijanis before the exodus of Azerbaijanis from Armenia after the outbreak of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.[1] The Statistical Committee of Armenia reported its population was 926 in 2010,[2] up from 781 at the 2001 census.[3]

Population

According to "Caucasian Calendar" of 1912, 1,046 people, mainly Azerbaijanis shown in the calendar as Karapapakhs, lived in village Gyullibulakh of Kars Okrug of Kars Oblast.[4]
