Mehndi Rang Layegi

Mehndi Rang Layegi (transl. Henna brings Colour) is a 1982 Indian Hindi-language romance film, produced by Pradeep Sharma and Veer Jain under the Tutu Veer Films banner and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. It stars Jeetendra, Rekha, Anita Raj and music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Gorintaku (1979).[1][2][3]

Plot

The film begins in a village where Tagore Dindayal a vice, bedevils his wife Rama, and two children. Once, in a drunkard state, he hits hard his daughter Munni and she dies. Looking at it, his son Ramu revolts when Rama smacks him. Hence, Ramu quits the house, strives, and self-educates till medico. During that time, his fellow collegian Kalpana supports him by all means and they silently love each other. In the interim, Kalpana’s father knots her with a guy Anand. Soon after, Kalpana realizes him as an imposter who has already married, so, she divorcées him. Ramu completes his studies and relieves his mother from his wicked father. He makes normal a neurotic patient Padma with his warm friendship and decides to marry her. Meanwhile, Ramu & Kalpana finds out about their unexpressed love when Kalpana’s father proceeds to Ramu with the proposal. Owing to the gratitude he accepts it and convinces Padma. However, being aware of Padma, Kalpana backs, and by then Padma attempts suicide and Kalpana rescues her. Finally, the movie ends with Kalpana uniting Ramu & Padma.
