Sarada Ramudu

Sarada Ramudu (transl. Funny Rama) is a 1980 Indian Telugu-language comedy drama film, produced by S. Riyaz Basha under Saif Enterprises banner and directed by K. Vasu. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao, Jayasudha and music composed by Chakravarthy. It is a remake of the Hindi film Junglee (1961). The film was a box-office bomb.[1]

Plot

The film begins with a tycoon Madhav grown up abroad in a very disciplined and stubborn atmosphere. As per instructions of his mother Suvarchala Devi, that's why he doesn't know even to laugh. Madhav is about to return and envies his malicious maternal uncle Chidanandam who ruses with his son Sadanandam to slay him but in vain. Soon after, Madhav takes up his authority when strictly dictates rules & regulations and which frightens everyone. Madhav's sibling Padma falls for Gopi the son of their Manager Sathabhisham and she conceives. Madhav detects and hides it from his mother. Parallelly, Madhav is aware of a fraud Chindanandam at their Kashmir branch. So, he proceeds with Padma and secretly knits her with Gopi. Here, he is acquainted with a girl Latha the daughter of Dr. Prabhakar, who comprehends the beauty of life and he turns into a carefree. Meanwhile, Padma gives birth to a baby boy, and they back keeping the baby with the father. Suvarchala Devi gets shocked at sighting the carefree Madhav. After that, Chidanandam reveals Suvarchala Devi about Padma’s nuptial when she rebukes but Madhav convinces her and makes her understand the real value of people. Plus, Madhav reveals his love, and Latha & her father move with the proposal when Prabhakar is accused of Madhav’s father Raja Rao's homicide. Here Prabhakar briefs Madhav that the real culprit is Chidanandam. Furious, Madhav moves to attack Chidanandam. Knowing it, Chidanandam & Sadanandam abducts Padma's baby. Madhav in disguise ceases them. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Madhav & Latha.

Reception

Mallik of Sitara Weekly criticised the film, stating this is yet another film made with a concept of bad characters strategising to take control of the assets of the rich family. He criticised the characters and music, but appreciated the photography.[3]
