The siege of Ankara was a unsuccessful siege of Ankara by Timur.

Timur waged war on the Ottoman Empire he entered Anatolia and quickly began to plunder. Then he headed to Ankara and began to besiege the Ankara fortress.[2] When Yakub Bey and his men refused to surrender to Timur until Bayezid arrived, the siege began.[3] Timur surrounded the city and attacked, but was defeated and retreated before he could even get close to the walls.[4][5] In this way, while unsuccessful attacks were underway, Bayezid captured Timur, and Timur was forced to lift the siege.[6]
