Cohan yang berdasarkan pada sandiwara Broadway tahun 1915, Hit-the-Trail-Holiday.[2] Cohan menulis sandiwara tersebut untuk saudara iparnya Fred Niblo, yang kemudian menjadi sutradara.[3]
