Protein S

Protein S (bahasa Inggris: protein S (alpha)) adalah plasma glikoprotein yang disintesis oleh endotelium, dengan berkas genetik PROS1,[1] yang terletak pada kromosom 3,[2] lokasi 3q11.2.

Dalam sirkulasi darah, protein S akan membentuk senyawa kompleks dengan C4b, dan berfungsi sebagai kofaktor dari sejenis protease anti-koagulan yang disebut APC untuk menghambat koagulasi darah.

Mutasi genetik pada protein ini dapat menyebabkan trombofilia.
