Geografi
Sungai ini mengalir di wilayah selatan pulau Papua yang beriklim hutan hujan tropis (kode: Af menurut klasifikasi iklim Köppen-Geiger).[3] Suhu rata-rata setahun sekitar 23 °C. Bulan terpanas adalah Desember, dengan suhu rata-rata 25 °C, and terdingin Juli, sekitar 21 °C.[4] Curah hujan rata-rata tahunan adalah 6240 mm. Bulan dengan curah hujan tertinggi adalah Agustus, dengan rata-rata 690 mm, dan yang terendah Januari, rata-rata 402 mm.[5]
