The Day the Music Died

Pada 3 Februari 1959, para musisi rock and roll Amerika Serikat Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, dan "The Big Bopper" J. P. Richardson tewas dalam sebuah kecelakaan pesawat di dekat Clear Lake, Iowa, bersama dengan pilot Roger Peterson. Peristiwa tersebut kemudian dikenal sebagai "The Day the Music Died", setelah penyanyi-penulis lagu Don McLean menyebutnya dalam lagu tahun 1971 "American Pie".
