Sinopse

Engenheiro e inventor Robert Fulton (Richard Greene) vem para Nova York em 1807. Pat O'Day é aquela que ajuda Robert com suas invenções, mas seu namorado Charles Browne (Fred MacMurray) não está feliz por Pat ficar com Robert. Todos se viram contra Robert por terem medo de perder seus empregos, pois Robert está inventando um navio a vapor.
